Running Your Event

Mission Control is your organizer dashboard for running a live event. Everything you need — going live, checking in attendees, sending updates, running polls — is in one place on your phone or laptop.

Open the action menu (the icon) on any event in Village and tap Go Live. Mission Control opens in a new tab.

Who can access Mission Control:

  • The event creator
  • Any member of your Village organization (Organization plan)

You’ll be prompted to sign in with your Village account if you aren’t already.

To share the live link with your attendees, open the event action menu and tap Copy Live Link. This copies the attendee URL directly to your clipboard so you can paste it anywhere — a reminder email, a group chat, or a QR code generator.

Attendees who signed up through Village already have this link in their confirmation email, so you typically only need to share it separately if you want to reach people who haven’t signed up yet.

Before you go live, add your agenda to the Activities section. Each line becomes one step in the live timeline that attendees see on their screens.

Click Save Activities to save. You can update activities at any time, even mid-event.

When you’re ready to start, tap Go Live. This instantly:

  • Changes the attendee screen from a pre-event holding state to the live dashboard
  • Starts the activity timeline on the first item
  • Begins the real-time connection between your Mission Control and all attendee screens

The LIVE indicator appears in your header when the event is active. Attendees see it too.

Step through your agenda as the event progresses. The activity card shows the current step and your position in the agenda (e.g. “Activity — 2 of 5”).

  • Prev / Next — move between activities; every attendee’s screen updates immediately
  • The live timeline on attendee screens shows the current activity highlighted and progress dots for completed steps

A simple count-up timer to help keep speakers on track. It runs locally in your browser — it’s not visible to attendees.

  • Play / Pause — start and stop the timer
  • Reset — return to 00:00

The check-in section shows your real-time attendance count pulled from Village signups. Tap Attendees to expand the full list and check people in individually as they arrive.

  • Tap the circle next to an attendee’s name to mark them as checked in (turns green)
  • Tap again to uncheck if needed
  • The count updates live on attendee screens in the Who’s Here section

Send an instant message to every attendee screen at once. The message appears as a banner across the top of their screen and auto-dismisses after 10 seconds (or they can dismiss it manually).

Type your message and tap Send. Common uses:

  • “Parking validation available at the front desk”
  • “We’re starting in 5 minutes — find a seat”
  • “Pizza has arrived in the lobby!”

To clear an active broadcast before it expires, open Settings → Clear Broadcast.

Attendees can submit questions from their screen. Questions appear in your Q&A Queue as they come in.

For each question you can:

  • Broadcast (radio icon) — push the question text as a broadcast banner so the whole room sees what’s being asked
  • Mark answered (check icon) — grays out the question so you know it’s been addressed
  • Remove (× icon) — delete the question from the queue

The badge on the Q&A Queue card shows the count of open (unanswered) questions.

Launch a real-time poll that attendees can vote on from their screens.

To create a poll:

  1. Tap + Create Poll
  2. Enter a question and at least two options (up to four)
  3. Tap Launch Poll — the poll appears on all attendee screens immediately

While the poll is running:

  • Vote counts update in real time in your Mission Control
  • Use Close Voting to stop accepting votes
  • Use Show Results to display the results on attendee screens
  • Use Clear to remove the poll entirely

You can only have one active poll at a time.

Tap the settings icon (⚙) in the header to access:

  • Copy Attendee Link — the link to share with attendees
  • Copy Manage Link — your Mission Control link
  • Clear Broadcast — dismiss the current broadcast banner (if one is active)
  • Go Live Again — reactivate the event after ending it
  • End Event — ends the live session; attendees see the Pulse Report

Tap Settings → End Event and confirm. This:

  • Changes all attendee screens to the Pulse Report (attendance count, event duration, crowd reactions, poll results)
  • Keeps your Mission Control accessible so you can review the same summary

If you ended the event early or want to extend it, tap Go Live Again from the settings menu or from the ended state card.
